  • Identify the various cost components in an electrical project.
  • Adopt and reference the costs established in the tender.
  • Monitor each cost component from start to finish.
  • Recognise the early signs of potential overruns.
  • Apply corrective action to overruns.
  • Know how and when to claim for payment.
  • Know what to claim for.
  • Use an acceptable claim format.
  • Prepare a final account.
  • Understand the foreman’s roles, duties and responsibilities.
